Rotary Club of Orange Park honors Joan Bazley its prestigious Citizen of the Year Award

Posted

ORANGE PARK – Joan Bazley, along with her late husband Dr. Bill Bazley served in so many ways throughout Clay County. Joan is one who always seemed to be available and conscientious when it comes to organizations and groups in Clay County that make the community better. She served to help make the Clay County Agricultural Fair what it is today. She was the first Fair Director, and she volunteered with the American Cancer Society and is helpful in serving within and maintaining the Clay County Historical Society and the museum in Green Cove Springs. She was instrumental in the Rails to Trails walk/bike way along US Highway 17. There are many more things that Mrs. Bazley has done and continues to do. She truly exemplifies the Rotary motto of "Service Above Self." The plaque with her name engraved, along with past recipients, hangs at the Orange Park Police Department.
