St. Johns Country Day School girls soccer returned to state champion status in 2025 with a 4-0 Class 1A title over The Pine School in Deland on March 1 and head coach Mike Pickett and senior forward CeCe Nowicki were selected as nominees as Class 1A Player and Coach of the Year by the Florida Dairy Farmers Association for their outstanding season.
Pickett, chosen as the Class 1A coach of the year for his 21-3-1 overall record and the Spartans state title, earned his 15th state title in 27 years.
Nowicki, a senior forward for Pickett, was second in the Class 1A player of the year selection behind The Pine School's Giovanna Waksman, who won the Florida Dairy Farmer Miss Soccer player of the year award. Waksman, with nearly 100 goals for her season, was shutout by the Spartans in the 2025 championship game.
Waksman got 87 first place votes to Nowicki's 77 votes as the Class 1A player of the year before being selected as the Florida Dairy Farmer Miss Soccer award winner.
For the Florida Dairy Farmer Girls Soccer coach of the year, Cindy Marcial of Plantation American Heritage won the coach award after a Class 4A state title; her third straight state title (5A titles in 2023 and 2024) and a 19-1-0 record in 2025. For Marcial, it was a seventh state title in her career.
From the area, Ponte Vedra's Dave Silverberg in Class 5A, 17-3-2 with the Class 5A title, and Jen Rodriguez of Bartram Trail in 6A, 18-1-4 with a fourth 6A state title in six years, were also nominated.
Episcopal coach Jay Bolt received votes in the Class 2A coach of year nominationsl.
Also nominated for All Classes players of the year from the area were Brooke Gosse of Bartram Trail in Class 6A and Episcopal goalie Ava Galani in Class 2A.
For the Class players of year nominations from the area were Creekside's Lily Paisant in 7A, Lily Morse of Ponte Vedra in Class 5A, Faith Hardy of PK Yonge in Class 2A and Yari Mujica of Williston in Class 2A.
