ORANGE PARK – An 18-year-old man was charged with shooting at four at the Victoria at Orange Park Apartment Homes on Sunday night, Feb. 8.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office reported that Dimond Jahlil Crawford of Orange Park has been charged with tampering with evidence following multiple reports from residents who heard gunshots in Building 9 of the apartment complex.
According to a release from the agency, two people were shot outside Building 9 around 1 a.m. while they were with two other people. CCSO said Crawford started “firing recklessly from inside his Apartment.” All parties involved are known to each other and reportedly have been involved in prior disputes, CCSO said.
The two injured victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Crawford, of Orange Park, was charged with four counts of attempted second-degree murder and tampering with evidence.
Crawford was holed up inside the apartment, which required CCSO to respond with its SWAT Unit. After a successful negotiation, Crawford surrendered and he was taken into custody.
This is still an active investigation, and anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the Clay County Sheriff’s Office at (904) 264-6512 and refer to case number 2026-003290. You can also submit an anonymous tip.
His bond was set at $750,015. His next court appearance was scheduled for March 17.
