Baseball/Softball Week Two Updates
Fleming Island's Ashlyn Madine finishes off a stolen base in the Golden Eagles' 9-1 win over Nease. Madine had two doubles, three runs batted in and the stolen base. Fleming Island has wins over Orange Park (14-4), Providence (10-2) and Nease (9-1) with University Christian, Palatka and Flagler Palm Coast up next.

Clay High pitcher Malia Collins lets it fly with a pitch in the Blue Devils' action against Providence in a 12-2 win for the 2-3 Blue Devils. Collins had seven strikeouts for the win. Clay had losses to Middleburg, Keystone Heights and Ponte Vedra in a tough scheduled week.
Clay High first baseman Rylan McMahan stretches for an out in the Blue Devils' loss to Creekside. The Blue Devils are 4-5 with wins over Lincoln and Oakleaf and losses on the road to the Master's Academy (1-0) and Montverde Academy (6-4). This week the Blue Devils had Providence, Tocoi Creek and a Friday match against Middleburg.
Fleming Island's Connor Massey rounds third en route to a scoring run in a thrilling 10-9 loss to Palatka that saw three lead changes. Massey got on base with a double. The Golden Eagles are 5-3 after a 10-5 loss to Nease on Friday. First Coast, Ridgeview and Columbia are up this week.
Middleburg basher Izzy Pifer rounds second after hitting a triple against Keystone Heights in the Broncos' 11-4 win. Pifer had double and triple with five runs batted in. The Broncos are 4-2 with a 2-1 finish on a road trip with 6-3 loss to Winter Springs, then wins over Fort Myers (1-0) and Foundation Academy (2-1). Madisyn Strickland has three homers: one a two-run game winner in a win over Foundation. The Broncos return with road games at Baldwin and Atlantic Coast, and a home Friday match against undefeated (4-0) Baker County.
Keystone Heights pitcher Kadence Massey rears up for a pitch against Middleburg. The Indians lost against Middleburg 11-4 after a 7-3 win over Clay. Oakleaf is on tap this week.
Middleburg High hitter Johnny DeAntonis bashes double in the Broncos' come-from-behind 9-8 win over Stanton. DeAntonis got the win on the mound in the eighth inning. Koen Hester also hit a double. Harris Jammes had a triple. The Broncos are 5-2 with Interlachen and Palatka, then a Friday showdown with Clay.
Orange Park infielder Yaziel Del Valle had three run homers in the Raiders' 11-1 rout of Old Plank Academy. The Raiders are 3-5 and had a double from Adrihan Marty and a triple from Brian Allen against Old Plank.
