Wanda Sue Hendrix Amick, age 78, of Green Cove Springs, passed away on July 18, 2026. She was born on July 15, 1948, and grew up in Doctor’s Inlet. Wanda was predeceased by her mother, Frances Ryan Glisson; stepfather, Walter Glisson, Sr.; and brother, Walter Glisson, Jr.
A retired code enforcement officer, Wanda spent 20 years keeping Clay County beautiful and ensuring that we all followed the rules. No one illegally dumped on Wanda’s watch! She is remembered as an animal lover, bird watcher, and avid gardener. Her collection of lucious plumerias was a testament to her dedication and green thumb. She will also be lovingly remembered for her beautiful smile, infectious laughter, and warm hugs. Wanda is survived by her husband, Bill Amick, and her sisters, Gail Ricker, Sara Sprague, and Donna Ryan, as well as loving nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, and inlaws. A celebration of life will be held and details are forthcoming. All who knew her are invited to come and share their favorite memories.
