ORANGE PARK – Sprouts Farmers Market will be the first tenant for the former Sears store at the Orange Park Mall.
The demolition of the 189,796 square-foot retail store, which officially closed in 2020, began after Corta Orange Park bought the store for $41.3 million back in April. Sprouts will be the primary anchor of the new Orange Park Place occupying 23,137 square feet, according to the Jacksonville Daily Record.
In total, there is set to be five anchor tenants and seven outparcels. Two other restaurants are in discussion -- Cava and Parker's Kitchen.
Cava is a Mediterranean-themed eatery, while Parker's Kitchen is a Southern-inspired convenience store and foodservice chain. Parker’s is looking at moving in at the former Red Dirt Motorcycles, which closed two years ago after taking over the former Sears Auto Center.
Corta Orange Park FTU LLC principal owner Cory Presnick said the entire project is projected to take 15 months.
