ORANGE PARK - Although the former Hooters location on Wells Road has sat vacant for more than two years now, it won't be that way for much longer.
The former sports bar at 1740 Wells Road will soon be revamped into a Coastal Crab Shack restaurant, according to building permits.
An application for the new nonfranchise business was filed back in February of this year by property owners Liu and Lin Enterprise. Hooters permanently closed back in 2024 and was sold for $1.2 million.
In a permit report filed on July 6, it said the building would go through $200,000 worth of commercial alteration and remodeling, as well as a build-out. The 4,670-square-foot restaurant will include a dining room with benches and booths for seating and a bar area.
