• Orange Park Town Manager Cindy Hall is given her expedited retirement by the Town Council.
• City Attorney Sue Heath met with the Green Cove Springs City Council for the last time following her retirement.
• Gustafson’s Dairy announces it will lay off workers and close its Clay County dairy.

• A three-month investigation resulted in the arrests of three Melrose residents.

• After shifting funds from different accounts, Orange Park Town Council unanimously approved $1 million for a new headquarters for its Public Works Department.

• Clay County School Board rejected bids for Lake Asbury Junior High. The lowest bid, from Auld &White, came in 25% over budget.

• A section of the Shands Fishing Pier caved in at the site in Green Cove Springs. Officials estimated repairs to run as high as $80,000.

• A Middleburg couple was arrested and charged with what law enforcement characterized as a statewide check-cashing scam.

• Warwick Kenney submitted his letter of resignation to the Green Cove Springs Commission after more than 25 years of service during nine terms.

• A dive team from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office recovered the body of John Prebula from the St. Johns River after he apparently fell from the Shands Bridge Pier.
