GREEN COVE SPRINGS – This year’s crop of Plant City strawberries was big and sweet at last weekend’s Strawberry Fest at the Clay County Agriculture Fairgrounds. Residents bought armloads of freshly picked berries, as well as enjoy the fair-like offerings from several midway vendors. Abby Stacy, 5, whose family is from Green Cove Springs, enjoyed a bowl of strawberry shortcake, while Middleburg’s Lawonia Hyland took home two flats of the luscious berries that she will “eat, share with her daughter and friends at work.”
