ORANGE PARK – Security and the Clay County Sheriff’s Office said a North Carolina woman passed counterfeit $100 bills at the Orange Park Mall.

Al’Asia Devine Gregory, 21, of Charlotte, was charged with uttering counterfeit money and illegally obtaining property after an employee of one store told a security officer the woman bought two items at one store totaling $21.50. She paid with a fake $100 bill and pocketed the 78.50 change, according to CCSO.

She also bought $34.29 worth of items at another store, also paying with a counterfeit bill. Once detained, deputies found three more counterfeit bills with the same serial number.

According to the arrest report, the purchases were captured by surveillance video.
