CLAY COUNTY – The county will celebrate Earth Day with a variety of events on Saturday, April 20.

The biggest will be at Camp Chowenwaw Park from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at 1517 Ball Road in Green Cove Springs, across the street from the Black Creek Marina. EcoFest will include information on the St. Johns River and Black Creek, as well as the ecological effects both have on the county and local history and how they connect with nature.

The program will include tours, vendors, activities, food trucks and interactive programs.

The City of Green Cove Springs has planned a clean-up of Spring Park from 8-10 a.m., while there are clean-ups scheduled for Black Creek Trail, Fleming Island Library, High Ridge Estates in Keystone Heights, Keystone Boat Ramp, Ronnie Van Zant Park, Russell Road, Main Street in Middleburg, County Road 218, Penney Farms, Middleburg High, Oakleaf Community Park, Wells Road, John E. Hayes Memorial Park and Governors Boat Ramp – all from 8-10 a.m. Gloves, grabbers, bags and water will be provided, and an adult must accompany children younger than 16.

Also, the Orange Park Mall has a Mural Magic for children 4-12 near the Food Court from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
