David Halwood Horton

David Halwood Horton, 81 of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023. David was born in Quincy, FL to the late Halwood and Lena Horton. He graduated high school in Jacksonville and was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving from 1960-1963 as an Army Ranger/Special Forces before his honorable discharge at Fort Benning, Georgia. After the war, David became a plumber pipefitter and was a member of the Local #234 from 1969-2005. He served as a volunteer fireman for Lake Asbury for 30 years, 15 of which he was chief, was a member of the Masonic Lodge #1965 of Jacksonville and was a 32 Degree Scottish Rite. David loved welding and his occupation, as well as, guns, shooting, family and most of all his loving wife, Connie.

Mr. Horton is survived by his wife, Connie Horton, children, Cynthia (Whitney) Thompson, Hal David Horton, Lori (Tim) Ley, David (Kathy) LaGrua, Teresa (David) Sanday, Pat (Joyce) Kiser, and Denise LaGrua, brother, Larry (Nancy) Horton, sister-in-law, Carol Horton, several grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Memorial Services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Black Creek Methodist Church, 3925 Main Street, Middleburg, FL 32068
