Does God Know Who I Am?

Pastor and Theologian R.C. Sproul once said, “I know that God knows everything about me and yet loves me is indeed my ultimate consolation.”

So, does God really know who I am? Let’s look at this important question.

We find strength in our loved ones. They know us and accept us for who we are. The comfort that comes from being known and accepted makes these relationships so influential in our lives. The bonds we have forged with those closest to us bring empowerment, identity, and peace. These people are irreplaceable in our hearts because of how interconnected our lives have become.

Sometimes, God can feel distant. Do you ever wonder if He even knows who you are? Well, no one knows you better than God. Psalm 139:13 says, "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb" (NIV).

Everything that makes you unique was shaped by God's hand. Before you met your own parents, God knew you in the womb. He loved you unconditionally then, and He loves you unconditionally now. His acceptance has always been with you, no matter what you've done.

This truth makes the empowerment, identity, and peace that we find in Him incomparable to any other relationship that we have. The all-powerful Creator of the universe not only knows you but created you out of the loving vision that He has for your life. Our lives today are filled with distractions and trials because we live in a fallen world. But you can rest assured that God knows you deeply and wants to enter an intimate relationship with you.

Never doubt His presence in your life. Welcome God into your life daily, allowing Him into the deepest reaches of your heart. There, He will show you things about yourself that you didn't even know. He will walk alongside you through everything you experience in life, bringing you the comfort and peace that comes from being known and loved.

Remember, God created you, He loves you, He is for you, and He knows who you are.
