Facebook Question of the Week

Do you have any New Year’s resolutions?

CLAY COUNTY – It’s a new year and with every new year comes a new batch of resolutions.

Whether or not those resolutions stick, nobody knows but fortunately everyone has 365 days in 2021 to make it happen. Clay Today asked its readers what their resolutions are for 2021 as this week’s Facebook Question of the Week and many of them seem to be influenced by how 2020 went for everyone. From the cure to COVID-19 to a disinterest in making one, our readers’ 2021 resolutions run the gambit.

“It is the same each year and I have never failed to meet it,” Marsha Willoughby said. “That is to not make one to begin with.”

Jane Woods is on the same wavelength as Willoughby because he said he never makes them and doesn’t plan to change that in 2021. Wendy Ridgdill said she learned to never make resolutions because by Jan. 3, they were already history.

There are those on the exact other side though keeping their resolutions broader and more focused on positivity. Karen Fey said her only resolution is to enjoy life as much as I can, which, after a year like 2020, seems like a resolution everyone could use in their life. She also said life's too short to not have fun.

“[My resolution is] to go out and be around people more,” Annette Large said.

With Clay County now distributing COVID-19 vaccines, Large’s resolution will only get easier with time. Patty Kobiata had COVID-19 on her mind when responding to this week’s Facebook Question of the Week. Her resolution is the hope for peace on Earth and a cure for COVID-19.

There isn’t yet a cure other than quarantining and keeping yourself safe while the virus does what it does to your body, but there is at least a vaccine and more and more vaccines are coming into Clay County.

Christine Luther said their 2021 goal is to build a stronger relationship with God, as they believe everything else will fall into place after that.

“Deal with the world’s shenanigans and come out on top,” Scott Harrington said.

What are your 2021 resolutions? Let us know in the comments of last week’s Facebook Question of the Week and keep an eye out on the official Clay Today Newspaper Facebook page for next week’s question.
