JACKSONVILLE - Former Fleming Island High School multisport athlete London Jenkins, a standout flag football and basketball player for the Golden Eagles, has quickly ascended into the national scene of sports with a selection on to the USA National Womens flag football team that offers a possible Olympic team berth.

"I just think I like to work harder than everyone else and also think that noone is working harder than me," said Jenkins, who was in town for a Jacksonville Jaguars PREP Girls Flag Football Prospect camp on Friday at Providence High School. "I have had great coaches all the way up with my family as a support team."

Jenkins, along with Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Foyesade Oluokun, an eight year veteran out of Yale University, welcomed a stadium full of girls flag football athletes from six to 16 years old to enjoy flag football skills drills on Friday and games on Saturday.

Jenkins returned to the north Florida area after trips to North Carolina to train with the USA womens team in preparation for a international match in China; the World Games in Chengdu, China and also the IFAF Americas Continental Championship in Panama September 12-14. Jenkins is a national junior college champion from her Florida Gateway College team in Lake City as well as a two time Final Four finisher for Fleming Island High under coach Clinton Lyons.

"My high school coach prepared me for the next level in college because I had great teammates and we always played the best teams in Florida," said Jenkins., who was named the 2024 Jaguars Prep Girls Flag Player of the Year for her skills.
