James Edward Guy Jr.
James Edward Guy Jr., born March 22, 1955, in Woodbury, NJ, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2023, in Middelburg, FL due to natural causes. In the days leading up to his departure from us on Earth, he enjoyed time with his family. James served in the military, drove semi-trucks, was the best parts go-getter and parts changer, managed a mobile home trailer park and in his later years ran T. Phillips Mobile Home Supply Store.
James loved working but loved spending time with his late wife, Bonnie J. Guy, his children, and his grandchildren. James was an honest man and lived to set an example for his family. Shortly after his wife’s passing in March of 2020 was diagnosed with kidney failure which resulted in him starting dialysis right away. The treatment made him sick, and due to the diagnosis, he had to go to many doctors’ appointments. He ended up having to retire and receive help from his youngest daughter Tammie and her husband Tom Phillips. Tammie would go over and do dialysis every night. Fast forward to two and half years later he was diagnosed with dementia. Dementia took the biggest hit on us all. It was hard, especially for his caretaker.
There was good, there was bad, and there was just straight-up ugly, but his caretaker never for a second gave up on him. Nobody gave up on him. At the beginning of October of 2023, James made the decision to stop dialysis and bring hospice in. It was an emotional and heart-tugging decision but James was ready to go be with his wife again and the family had to support his decision. James was a fighter, and he fought for three and a half years.
In heaven waiting for him is his father, James Sr., his wife, Bonnie, siblings Laurie and Billy; and many more family members and friends.
James is survived by his mother, Grace; sisters, Dee, Diane, Marilyn; children, Tammie (Tom), Jimmer, Connie (David); grandchildren, Tommy (Jammie), Dylin, Bonnie (Hunter), Anthony, James(Chelsey), Tabitha, Katie; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Thomas, Gunner, Elih, Rex, Logan; and many more family and friends.
