Faith Walk: Live your Best Life: Don’t try to Control Things

In our busy world, it’s easy to feel out of control. We are constantly rushing from one thing to the next just trying to keep up. The fact is we can’t have total control of very much in our lives. When our lives feel out of control, we often try to wrestle back control at any cost. Embrace the idea of “letting go and letting God”.

Corrie Ten Boom was known for her heroic efforts to hide Jews from arrest and deportation to concentration camps during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands. She once said, “Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.” We should give control to the One who is in control.

God’s power and perspective is boundless, meaning He can accomplish anything in your life. He has a plan and purpose prepared for you, but you’ll never fully realize those unless you hand control over to Him.

There is a reward for this type of living. Proverbs 10:16 says, “The wages of the righteous is life, but the earnings of the wicked are sin and death.” We don’t know what it truly means to live until we live attuned to the presence of God in our lives. True living means walking alongside God in everything you do. He brings out the fullness of life!

Accentuate the positive. Recognize God’s blessings all around you every day. Focus on God’s goodness and grace in everything. Accept the good things and the challenges. Through both the good and bad, He will transform your heart into the person He has called you to be. He is in control!

We were made by Him and for Him. Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” What does this mean for us? In simple terms, it means we can trust in God’s direction in our lives and fully relinquish control to Him. This is another step in living our best life!
