Main character energy and cold pizza: More of my unpopular opinions

Posted

"I speak my mind, because it hurts when I bite my tongue."- Unknown

Now, I did tell you there would be a part two, because...why not?

In a world where having an unpopular opinion or two is breaking the status quo, I believe in transparency. So, here are eight more "controversial" unpopular opinions that I agree with. Again, please read with caution.

1. Tea is better than coffee.

I'm sorry, I had to say it. As someone who has tried both, I find myself always sticking with a hot cup of tea. While they both are highly caffeinated and very similar, the taste of roasted coffee beans is less appealing to me than tea leaves.

2. Crocs are not cute.

Although a "fashion statement," the overall look of crocs is just very unappealing to me. They're too bulky and do not complement any outfit. Think about the last time you wanted to pair some shoes with your best outfit. I guarantee you did not think about crocs.

3. Cold pizza is actually good.

I don't know if it's the texture or taste, but surprisingly, a light-night cold pizza snack isn't bad. It's also less soggy.

4. Adults should be able to pick from the kid's menu.

My opinion on this has drastically changed from the last time I used a kid's menu. As a child, of course you want that mini cheeseburger and bag of apples to yourself. But it's different when you're older and just want something more cost effective and just enough. It may take away the sophistication of dinnertime, but oh well.

5. Apple watches are pointless.

I haven't used my smartwatch in more than a year. And that's because I always have my phone. Mostly everything on a smartwatch is available on a mobile device. So, really what's the point?

6. Hulu is technically better than Netflix.

While Netflix definitely has the better original television shows, you can't deny that Hulu is the reason why people can get rid of cable and be comfortable. Hulu offers not just a vast variety of binge-worthy shows, but access to live television. Something Netflix does not.

7. I think Gen Z has the best lingo/slang compared to other generations.

It's true that every generation has their own lingo and youth culture. Call me crazy, but I think we have the best. Thanks to internet-culture, Gen Z's have put a twist on words in a way that, based on what I've read, is far more compelling than other generations. We just have that "main character energy."

8. Please, no more reboots or adaptations.

Within the past year, I have seen countless television reboots, sequels and prequels to movies that came out 20 years ago, and live-action adaptations of old classics. The first, second and even the third were great, but Disney having at least five more in development is where I draw the line. Why do we need a live action "Lilo and Stitch 2?" It seems as though Hollywood has lost the creativity bug and is instead leaning on heavy nostalgia. This isn't totally a bad thing, until it becomes repetitive and uninspired. There is no room for "nostalgia" if you keep remaking the same things.
