Minor graduates from Maryville College
MARYVILLE, Tenn. – Kent Minor of Fleming Island has completed requirements for a bachelor of arts degree and graduated from Maryville College.
Minor, a 2012 graduate of Fleming Island High School, majored in management while at the college.
Approximately 225 seniors participated in commencement exercises held May 15 on the lawn between Anderson Hall and Sutton Science Center.
Ccommencement speaker Many-Bears Grinder, commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Veterans Services, encouraged graduates to “cultivate a heart of humility and build a legacy of service.”
Founded in 1819, Maryville College is the 12th oldest institution of higher learning in the South and maintains an affiliation with the Presbyterian Church USA.
Miller graduates from Kirkwood Community College
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Kirkwood Community College has announced the graduating class of 2015-16. College faculty and administration joined friends and family in saluting the graduates at commencement ceremonies at the US Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids, May 14.
Kyle Miller of Orange Park was among Kirkwood’s graduates.
Two Clay residents earn degrees from Florida Tech
MELBOURNE, Fla. – The following local residents received a bachelor’s degree at Florida Institute of Technology’s Spring Commencement in May.
Stuart Jamieson of Fleming Island received a bachelor’s degree in psychology, while Nicholas Germann, of Orange Park received a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering.

Lincoln University of Missouri Announces Spring 2016 Dean's List
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – A Fleming Island student was named to the spring 2016 Dean’s List at Lincoln University of Missouri.
Steven Adam Fitzgerald of Fleming Island was named to the Dean’s List. In order to qualify for the Dean's List a student must acquire at least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale, with a minimum of 12 credit hours in qualifying course work.
