JACKSONVILLE – Jacksonville Jaguar running back Leonard Fournette sped 66 yards to the nine yard line of the New York Jets on the Jaguars first offensive series to set up the first score of the day and lead the Jaguars to a 29-15 win Sunday afternoon in TIAA Bank Field. The Jaguars, heading to London on November 11 to play the Houston Texans, are now 4-4 while the Jets fall to 1-6.

“I thought it was a battle and Gardner (Jags quarterback Gardner Minshew) did a nice job,” said Jaguars coach Doug Marrone. “Defensively, we got after them pretty good. We got eight sacks, but Sam Darnold (Jets quarterback) stood up in their and kept fighting.”

Fournette eventually finished with just 76 yards, but the first quarter run put the Jets defense on its heels as rookie quarterback Gardner Minshew threw for three scores off 279 yards in the air. Keenan Cole caught a six yard scoring strike after Fournette’s run to put Jacksonville up 7-0.

Wide outs Chris Conley, DJ Chark and Keenan Cole caught Minshew’s scoring strikes as the Jaguars, now 4-4, piled up 389 yards of offense. Conley was the recipient of a 70 yard scoring pass that put the Jags up 13-7 after the first quarter.

With the Jaguars getting three field goals from kicker Josh Lambo into the fourth quarter, Chark snagged an eight yard scoring pass in the fourth quarter for the final score of the day.

On defense, the Jaguars got three interceptions off Jets quarterback Sam Darnold; two from cornerbck Tre Herndon and one from A.J. Bouye. The Jaguars also got eight sacks on the day with Yannick Ngakoue and Josh Allen both getting two.
