AUBURN, Ala. | Alabama A & M freshman guard Kaylah Turner, an Oakleaf High graduate, scored a career-high 21 points and Alisha Wilson pulled down a career-best 10 rebounds, but it wasn't enough as the Alabama A&M University women's basketball team saw its two-game winning streak end on Sunday afternoon with a 68-45 loss at Neville Arena.

Turner was instrumental as point guard for the Knights, coached by Fred Cole, playing in two Final Four tournments in her high school career.

At Alabama A & M, Turner has increased her playing time minutes from single digits to double digits as her point totals have climbed from 11, 8 and 7 in her first three games to 16, 21 and 18 for the last three games. Turner, who was a steal to assist menace for Oakleaf opponents has 13 assists in six games with six steals.

Alabama A&M (2-3) struggled offensively, shooting 26 percent from the floor. Auburn (4-2) used an 11-3 run over the final 4:40 of the opening quarter and did not look back. The Tigers put the game away by shooting 57 percent in the third quarter.

Turner, who drained nine shots from the field, scored a career-high 21 points, with four rebounds and two steals.

In the sixth game of the Alabama A & M three wins, three loss season, Turner scored 18 pints with three assists in a 70-57 win over North Alabama.

Alabama A & M travels to Bethune Cookman on Sat., Feb. 24 for a 1 p.m. game and Tallahassee on Mon., Feb. 26 in a 4:30 p.m. game against FAMU.
