Palms Medical providing affordable healthcare

ORANGE PARK – Quality medical care is unattainable for many. It can be costly. Many people don’t see doctors until it’s too late because they can’t pay for necessary services.

With this in mind, the Palms Medical Group opened 13 clinics across North Florida, including one in Orange Park at 2021 Professional Center near the Orange Park Medical Center.

Palms is not-for-profit. Its goal is to bring affordable, quality healthcare. They maintain that a patient’s financial standing shouldn’t keep them from receiving quality health care. Palms accepts Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance carriers. For patients who do not have any health insurance, they are still able to receive care. Fees are based on the patient’s income and on the federal poverty scale and patients can work with financial services representatives to figure out payment options.

Palms offers patients many medical services that might otherwise be unavailable to them. Primary care for adults and children is available. There is also a pharmacy to fill prescriptions, a dental clinic, a laboratory, obstetrics, chiropractic care and a dental clinic. Also available is behavioral health, which, due to more attention recently, has become a more sought-after aspect of health care.

The Orange Park clinic has a wide variety of caregivers and providers who care for patients. Among doctors, there is a mix of experience and medical residents. The resident doctors work in the internal medicine and family practice clinics.

One of the most essential services is prenatal care. Among any low-income demographic, proper prenatal care is vital.

There are no emergency services at the clinic; patients in need of emergency treatment should follow the standard procedures.
