KEYSTONE HEIGHTS – The Clay County Sheriff's Office arrested a man after deputies with its narcotics and fugitive units said he rammed into two patrol cars. At the same time, they tried to apprehend him during a traffic stop on March 13.
Cameron Lee Yarbrough, 34, of Keystone Heights, was charged with two battery counts of a law enforcement officer, trafficking methamphetamine, resisting arrest and driving with a suspended license after CCSO attempted to stop Yarbrough because they knew he didn’t have a valid license. He had two outstanding warrants in Putnam County.
According to the arrest report, when they surrounded his car with at least six patrol cars with their emergency lights flashing, Yarbrough rammed the front of two of the detective cruisers on two occasions. He exited his car and ran toward some trees. As he ran, he pulled a plastic bag from his pants, CCSO said.
After he was arrested, detectives said the bag contained 94.9 grams of methamphetamine.
Yarbrough’s bond was set at $500,014. His next court date will be April 14.
