CCSO: Bank robber caught shortly after Orange Park stickup

ORANGE PARK – A man was arrested after he held up the Fifth/Third Bank on Sept. 11.
Elvis Xhepaj, 33, of Fleming Island, was charged with armed robbery and grand theft after Clay County Sheriff’s Office deputies said he took $330 from a teller at the bank at 311 Crossings Blvd.
Xhepaj ran from the bank and into a wooded area by The Reserve at ARIUM apartment complex. He was arrested after CCSO set a perimeter in the area.
The sheriff’s office said the money wasn’t recovered from the stickup.
His bond was set at $200,006. His next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 12.

Woman busted in Flagler following rash of break-ins

MIDDLEBURG – A woman was arrested Sept. 9 following a string of car break-ins in Middleburg, Argyle and Lakeside areas.
Shyanne Renee Sumner, 26, of Jacksonville, was charged with nine counts of burglary, three counts of attempted burglary and grand theft auto following a week-long spree.
Sumner was identified on several surveillance cameras on Sandhill Crane Terrace and King Rail Lane in Middleburg, Argyle Forest Boulevard and Oakdale Drive in Lakeside.
Sumner was stopped by Flagler County Sheriff’s Office deputies on June 25 who were responding to a reported stolen car. An inventory of the car resulted in the retrieval of several stolen items.
She was returned to Clay County last week to face a litany of charges. Her bond was set at $102,542.

Trio charged with attacking inmate at Clay County Jail

GREEN COVE SPRINGS – Three men were charged with battery inside the Clay County Jail after they ganged up and punched and kicked a man, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office said.
Jaylon Hankerson, 22, of Starke, Jhatarrion Kakwan Sampson, 19, Orange Park, and Jhamar Tyrone Elbert Pryor, 22, of Waycross, Georgia all face additional charges following the Sept. 9 attack.
According to the arrest report, the victim was first punched by Hankerson. While he was on the floor, Hankerson, Sampson and Pryor all repeatedly kicked him.
