ORANGE PARK – Clay County Property Appraiser, Tracy Scott Drake, was recently elected to serve a two-year term on the Board of Directors of the Property Appraisers’ Association of Florida (PAAF). Mr. Drake will represent the Second District, comprising Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Clay, Columbia, Dixie, Duval, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Lafayette, Levy, Madison, Nassau, Suwannee, Taylor and Union counties.
He was also re-appointed to serve on PAAF’s Legislative Committee.
PAAF was organized in 1903 for the purpose of bringing about fair, equitable and accurate assessments throughout the State of Florida. Although Florida’s property tax system has experienced vast changes and has become increasingly complex and confusing to property owners, the original purpose and intent of PAAF has remained unchanged. Additionally, the Legislative Committee’s primary responsibility is to review and prepare legislation relating to the ad valorem process and to represent PAAF before the Florida Legislature.
