ORANGE PARK – Grove Park Elementary recently celebrated the renovation of the school's basketball court. The renovation was the brainchild of former Physical Education teacher, Kyle Caballero, who saw the need for a complete renovation of the old cracked worn out basketball court with rusted backboards and torn nets that rendered the courts unusable Caballero started a Donors Choose Fund Account to “make it easy for anyone to help a teacher in need, moving us closer to a nation where students in every community have the tools and experiences they need for a great education.” The Rotary Club of Orange Park, a longtime partner of Grove Park, decided to step up and help. Together, they were able to renovate the courts. “We look forward to continuing a bright and fruitful partnership for many years to come, a partnership (with Rotary Club) that will bring joy and positivity to our students, families and community,” said principal Melissa Wright. Clay Superintendent of Schools David Broskie, gave his stamp of approval for the much-needed renovation by scoring the first goal on the new courts.
