GREEN COVE SPRINGS – The Green Cove Springs Police Department hosted its Rock the Dock Casino Night on Sept. 3 to support next month’s Trunk or Treat. Officers joined with patrons of the Elks Lodge and other city and county officials to raise about $3,000 for next month’s program at the police department that features decorated trunks, food booths, games, a scare tent, dance and costume contests and a canned food drive. “It was a fun weekend,” said police chief John Guzman. “It was a very interactive event. So as opposed to the other events we had like the art auction, it was a little bit more active for the participants. They were at the tables. They were playing blackjack, (blackjack) and poker – stuff like that. Trunk or Treat will be on Oct. 29 from 6-9 p.m.
