MIDDLEBURG—Safe Animal Shelter will host a Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate and Return (TNVR) program (TNVR) on Saturday to address the county’s overwhelming challenges of unwanted cat litters in our neighborhoods.
TNVR is a compassionate and effective approach to managing community cat populations. It humanely traps, neuters, and vaccinates feral cats to significantly reduce the number of unwanted litters and improve the overall health of the feline population. This proactive strategy benefits cats and enhances the well-being of our neighborhoods.
Removing cats doesn’t resolve the issue because a new colony of feral cats generally will move into the area.
Safe Animal Shelter invites all community members to get involved in this vital initiative. Whether you’re a cat lover or care about the welfare of animals in our area, your support is crucial. Volunteer opportunities are available for trapping and caring for these cats, and donations are always welcome to help fund the necessary veterinary services. Together, everyone can make a meaningful difference in the lives of these animals and create a more harmonious environment for everyone.
Together, the TNVR program can be part of the solution. The Safe Animal Shelter will host a free two-hour clinic on the TNVR program on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 10 a.m. to noon, at 2913 County Road 220 in Middleburg.
Anyone interested in volunteering, donating or learning more about how to help, please contact the Safe Animal Shelter, (904) 375-9122 to ensure a brighter future for our community cats and promote responsible pet ownership.
