SJR State College hosting Open House on April 20

ORANGE PARK – Looking for a new career? Ready to begin college this summer or fall? The St. Johns River State College’s Open House on April 20 is for you.

The free event doesn’t require registration, but prospective students can meet college faculty, advisors and other students, explore the college’s programs, discover the many paths toward earning an Association of Arts degree and apply for scholarships, financial aid and for the summer and fall semesters.

There will be children’s activities, club tables, swag bags and a dinner prepared by the Rolling Stoves Family Grill of hot dogs, chips and drinks for those who complete the open house passport.

The event will be at the Orange Park campus from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The event is open to current high school students, parents and guardians interested in a career change, improving a skill set, starting a business or advancing in a current job.

Workplace programs include nursing, EMT/paramedic, radiologic technology, medical assisting, health information technology, medical office administration, criminal justice, corrections, business, accounting, risk management, insurance management, network infrastructure, engineering technology, robotics, simulation technician and mechatronics.

Interested students also can enter for a chance to win a free class or concert tickets. They also can get information on a transfer degree, bachelor’s degrees, early childhood education, organizational management, BSN, dual enrollment, financial aid, scholarships, veterans services and the University of North Florida transfers.
