Keystone Heights eighth grader Atreyu Contes finished just a match away from his ticket to the Class 1A FHSAA state chapmpionships at 106 to fall one match short for a second year at the Region 1-1A championships in Wewhatchicka. With Contes, for the Indians were Mikey McCall at 113, who finsihed 1-2; Jared Goetzman at 120, who finished 1-2; Phoenix Contes at 132, who finished 1-2 and Marcellus Beam at 150, who was 0-2.
St. Johns Country Day School with a brand new wrestling program under former Clay coach Hunter Hill, will send two wrestlers to the FHSAA Class 1A championships with Kevin McLean (33-4) getting second at 106 and Howard Hill (41-11) getting third at 113.
