ORANGE PARK – Clay County Sheriff’s Office deputies stopped a woman with an active warrant in a parking lot. It wound up making a more significant arrest when they uncovered larger amounts of cocaine and methamphetamine in her car.
Sonya Mary Floyd, 53, of Orange Park, faces additional charges of trafficking cocaine, crack cocaine and methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, gabapentin and drug paraphernalia, use or display of a firearm and keeping a public nuisance structure for drug activity.
According to the arrest report, on Oct. 25, deputies followed her from an extended-stay hotel on Wells Road to a parking lot. After the stop, K-9 Kota alerted deputies of the likely presence of illegal narcotics inside the vehicle.
According to CCSO, she had a warrant for selling methamphetamine and ecstasy/molly to a confidential source on Aug. 22.
Her bond is $282,523.
