CLAY COUNTY – The 2022 Sunshine State Games, presented by Amazon, have a full calendar that features 25 sports, with multi-sport festivals held in four Florida communities and 22 facilities statewide hosting the events.

In Clay County, those events include:

• Disc golf at Ronnie Van Zant Park in Green Cove Springs from June 10-12. To enter, visit sunshinestategames.com/disc-golf/.

• Pickleball at Ronnie Van Zant Park in Green Cove Springs from June 10-12. To enter, visit sunshinestategames.com/pickleball/. Entries must be received by May 28.

• Ultimate Frisbee, Mixed Division at Plantation Sports Complex in Fleming Island from June 10-12. For more information, visit sunshinestategames.com/ultimate/.

• Baton Twirling at Orange Park High on June 11. For more information, visit sunshinestategames.com/baton-twirling-2/.

• Canoe/Kayak Marathons and Springs will start at the Middleburg Boat Ramp on June 11-12. To register, visit sunshinestategames.com/canoe-kayak-sprints/. Entries must be received by May 30.

• Ultimate Frisbee Men’s Open Division will be at the Plantation Sports Park on Fleming Island. For more information, visit sunshinestategames.com/ultimate/.

The competition will span 49 days in May and June. This will be the 43rd year of providing amateur sports opportunities to Florida athletes of all ages, the Sunshine State Games has been used as a stepping-stone to national and international competitions by many Florida athletes.

Sunshine State Games Events Serve As Florida Senior Games Qualifiers

With the Sunshine State Games being an amateur sports festival for athletes of all ages, some sports give athletes a chance to qualify for the Florida Senior Games, presented by Humana, an amateur sports festival for athletes age 50 and older.

The Sunshine State Games, presented by Amazon, are an annual presentation of the Florida Sports Foundation, the official sports promotion and development organization of the State of Florida.
