ORANGE PARK – Young and old alike will enjoy the Treasures from the Attic antique appraisal at the Active After Fifty Expo for Baby Boomers and Seniors to be held at Thrasher-Horne Center in Orange Park next Wednesday, Aug. 14 from 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Treasures from the Attic sponsor Jon Cantrell, Publisher of CLAY TODAY, said: “CLAY TODAY is honored and excited to be co-sponsoring the Treasures from the Attic Antiques Appraisal fundraiser for the Clay County Senior Adult Advocacy Council CCSAAC. We appreciate the popularity of this event, and we look forward to engaging with those involved raising funds and awareness of a local resource that benefits so many seniors.”

Appraisals will be provided by A-Coin & Stamp Gallery, an appraisal company serving Northeast Florida for more than 40 years. Hand carried treasures will receive a free verbal approximation of value. A-Coin will donate $5 for every item they appraise with proceeds benefitting Clay County Senior Adult Advocacy Council.

“The Senior Advocacy Council is excited to be part of the Active After Fifty Expo taking place at the Thrasher-Horne Center”, said Ernie Cohen, Vice President for CCSAAC. “By participating in the Treasures from the Attic antiques appraisal portion of the expo, you will help the Senior Advocacy Council continue to serve seniors in Clay County. As a nonprofit serving the county for over 18 years, we rely heavily on the support of the community”, Cohen said. 100 percent of the proceeds from the Treasures from the Attic Appraisal at the Expo will benefit our seniors. Grants that CCSAAC has awarded over the past few years include the construction of wheelchair ramps, sidewalk & driveway repairs, HVAC repairs and yard clean ups.

Treasures from the Attic is patterned after the popular PBS television show “Antiques Roadshow.” Expo attendees are encouraged to bring their easily portable antiques and collectibles. You may be surprised to learn the value of your treasures!
