Searching for Augusta Savage documentary out now! Searching for Augusta Savage, a 22-minute film that tells the story of an inspiring and enterprising artist is available now on the American Masters YouTube channel, pbs.org/americanmasters and the PBS App.

Sculptor Augusta Savage was born in Green Cove Springs and she later opened the first gallery in the U.S. dedicated to exhibiting the work of Black artists in 1939. While Savage was both active and prolific, only half of the approximately 160 pieces of sculpture she created has survived today, and little is known about her extensive accomplishments.

The Gate River Run:  the annual 15-k road race will kick off March 2 at 8 a.m. All waves will start on Duval Street in front of the Jacksonville Fairgrounds. It is also the largest 15k race in the county.

North Florida Land Trust to Host Annual Meeting and 25th Anniversary Celebration: will be held on Sunday, March 3 at TPC Sawgrass presented by the Doolittle Family. Tickets are available for the event which brings together a community of donors, supporters, and business partners to celebrate the work of the nonprofit land conservation organization dedicated to protecting natural landscapes. This free event is open to the public, and visitors will have the opportunity to check out some food trucks, vendors, a kids' zone, entertainment, speakers, military-based resources, and a job fair. This county-run event, presented by Vystar, is aimed to honor the men and women who are serving or have served our country and their families.

Orange Park Chorale to present “Walk with Me” Spring Performances: The Orange Park Chorale, a non-profit community of choral voices, invites the public to lace up its musical shoes and prepare for a melodious journey as the group presents its free spring vocal concert, “Walk With Me,” in two performances on March 16 and 17.
