CLAY COUNTY—We all know that one can never go wrong with a flower bouquet, box of chocolates and a heartfelt card to celebrate Valentine’s Day on Feb. 14.
But, for those looking to spruce up this year’s gift with a new, thoughtful experience, there are plenty of events happening around the county to celebrate Cupid’s Day. Here are a few:
Try a special Valentine’s Dinner. The Landing Bar and Grill in Oakleaf, 3989 Eagle Landing Pkwy. From 5-9 p.m. enjoy a prix fixe menu for $34.95 a person. Guests must RSVP to jhalifko@troon.com. At the Tumeric Kitchen, 3075 U.S. 17, couples can enjoy signature flavors during a special dinner for $90, including a house wine/champagne, an appetizer, two entrees, two naan and two desserts from the menu of your choice. Tables can be reserved at (904) 863-3904. Also, this year, Woody’s Bar-B-Q in Green Cove Springs, 1301 N. Orange Ave., will be offering a perfectly grilled steak dinner.
A shopping spree. Take your loved one to the Lake Asbury Valentine’s Day Market at 2674 Henley Road. Shop local artists, honey, fresh flowers, handmade jewelry, crafters and baked goods.
Adopt a furry friend. Clay County Animal Services will be hosting their “Pawsitively in Love” event at 3984 SR 16 W. There will be $14 adoptions, as well as ice cream and a story time.
