FLEMING ISLAND — It looks like Moccasin Slough Park is getting a few "breathtaking" upgrades, according to a county announcement on April 13.
Around this time next year, park goers will enjoy a new boardwalk with added amenities to indulge in, sure to bring new views to the park's surrounding beauty.
Work for the project is currently taking place beyond the playground on the back side of the park. That portion of the sidewalk trail remains closed. In the meantime, the public is encouraged to use the rest of the park during dawn-to-dusk hours, however the county asks that they be mindful of the construction area.
