Humane Society gets a check from real estate agent’s Giving House charity

ORANGE PARK – The Clay County Humane Society will get a check for as much as $2,400 this month as part of Ryan Winter’s Giving House charity.

The Keller Williams real estate agent donates 25-percent of his commissions to local charities. He is scheduled to close on a property this week for a veterinarian who works at the Humane Society, so his decision to assist with veterinarian services and humane education was an easy one.

“I don’t want charities to worry about their bottom lines,” Winter said. “I want businesses to help charities grow with their bottom lines.”

According to its web site, “Giving House bridges the divide between potential donors, like you and me, and charities enabling more giving without barriers.”

Winter’s goal is to raise $30,000 for charities this year.
