Sheriff’s Office Safety Fair slated for Oakleaf High on Aug. 3

OAKLEAF – The Clay County Sheriff’s Office will join several local businesses and organizations while hosting a Safety Fair on Oakleaf High on Aug. 3.
The sheriff’s office will have its community affairs, SWAT, K9, Sheriff’s NET, marine unit, traffic and other dignitaries at the event, which is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Others involved in the Safety Fair include: St. Vincent’s Medical Center, The Home Depot, Orange Park Medical Center, Lowe’s Home Improvement, Baptist Medical Center, Health Planning Council of Northeast Florida, Florida Department of Health, Clay Electric, Clay County School District, Clay Fire and Rescue, Florida Fish and Wildlife, Florida Highway Patrol, Florida Department of Transportation and U.S. Forest Service.

Annual Clothes Closet and Food Pantry garage sale set for Aug. 10


ORANGE PARK – The Clothes Closet and Food Pantry of Orange Park, a 501c3 non-profit, has been providing outreach services, clothing, Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets, furniture and household items to thousands of Clay County citizens in need or crisis and food to the greater Orange Park area since 1952. To fulfill the needs of the hundreds of individuals and families who rely on the Clothes Closet's services, the non-profit organization depends solely on donations and its annual garage sale held every August.
All proceeds from the sale benefit the clients and operation of the Clothes Closet.
This year the annual garage sale will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Orange Park United Methodist gymnasium on the corner of Reed Street and Stowe Avenue.
Donations can be dropped off on Thursday, Aug. 8, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., and on Friday, Aug. 9, from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. Donations of clean, good repair and serviceable clothing, household items, furniture, toys, shoes, books, games, garden and sport equipment, small appliances and audio equipment will be accepted. Contribution receipts will be available upon request.
