GREEN COVE SPRINGS – Five Clay County officials were sworn into office Tuesday, including (from left), Supervisor of Elections Chris Chambless, Sheriff Michelle Cook, Property Appraiser Tracy Scott Drake, Clerk of the Circuit Court Tara Green and Tax Collector Diane Hutchings. All were elected to a four-year term in last November’s General Election. Chambless and Green were re-elected, while Cook was appointed to her post by Gov. Ron DeSantis last September. Drake will take over for retired Roger Suggs, who worked 30 years in the property appraiser’s office for 30 years, including as the Appraiser since 2008, while Hutchings replaced Jimmy Weeks, who also retired. Weeks spent the last 24 years running the collector’s office.
