Retro Fitness suddenly closes
FLEMING ISLAND – Workout enthusiasts were surprised last weekend when they found the doors at Retro Fitness at 1999 East West Parkway closed and the lights off. A sign on the door said the gym will reopen later this month with new management. The club’s website said all memberships have been canceled. Two other Retro Fitness locations in Jacksonville, both franchised by former Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback David Garrard, closed nine months ago. According to the company’s website, if anyone has any billing questions, they can call (888) 827-9262.
