Gladys Louise O’Steen, 82, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed peacefully on October 30, 2024. She was born in Franklin, IN on October 13, 1942.
Preceding her in death are her birth mother Bertha Mae (Surber) Perry, adopted parents James R. and Dorothea J. (Surber) Brinson, and great-grandchild, Della R. Smith. She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years Bennett L. O’Steen, Sr., brother James (Jani) Brinson, daughter Angela Goodermote, son Charles (Danielle) Miller, daughter Carol (Stan) Lovely, son Bennett (Mary Beth) O’Steen, Jr., and daughter Rhonda Berry. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Gladys worked as a shift manager at McDonalds from which she retired after 25 years, volunteered uncountable hours to support her children’s schools, and served her church in many capacities throughout her 54 years as a parishioner. Gladys will be remembered for her infectious smile, warmth towards anyone she met, her faithful foundation with God, and her unending love and dedication to her family and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held Friday, November 15, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 7190 Highway 17, Fleming Island, FL at 11:00 A.M.
